Our Story

Doña Jimena Familia

Claudia Flores moved from Mexico to Vancouver with her young family over 20 years ago. Her goal was to craft the finest quality, responsibly sourced, small batch Tequila. She needed to find a Tequila Master who shared her vision to help her bring Doña Jimena to life.

With 15 years experience in a male dominated industry, Paola has challenged the status quo by becoming one of Mexico’s few Maestra Tequilera. She is honoured to be working with Claudia and helping to create Doña Jimena.

Empowerment

We are extremely proud to say female owned & operated - even more so in such a male dominated industry. From harvesting to boxing we work with our local communities and support female entrepreneurs. ⁠

We love what we do.⁠ Our dedication to an ancient craft is to create with intention a product of true quality; one which starts conversations, creates laughter, and moments to appreciate with those we love.⁠

Tradition

We craft in small batches.⁠ Our process is much slower than most practiced today resulting in a quality and flavor unchanged for generations.⁠

Sustainability

We also take sustainability seriously and work to reduce our impact on the land. We take 100% of the left over agave fibers from production and turn them into natural compost that is used as an organic fertilizer for the agave fields as well as utilizing a water recycling system.⁠
